Kyphoplasty

A kyphoplasty procedure, also known as balloon vertebroplasty, is a minimally-invasive procedure used to repair a vertebral compression fracture. Under fluoroscopic guidance, a balloon is inserted through a needle to expand the space in the collapsed disc. Bone cement is then injected into the space created by the balloon. This helps restore the spine’s natural shape. Some patients experience rapid pain relief after the procedure.
